Keep Children Away from Conflict

It is important for parents to remember that you are models for your children. The children are experiencing their own reactions to what is going on. They should not be involved in any conflict arising from the separation. Research has shown that being exposed to conflict between their parents can have serious long term impacts on a child’s health and wellbeing. 

Emotions of Separation

Separation involves a lot of emotions. It’s one of the hardest things you will ever do. Compare the emotions you have experienced with the ones that you see on the screen. You may have gone through some or all of these emotions at some point in your separation.
